Felting inquiry

Tue Oct 6, 2009, 9:13 PM
Hey,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there who has some experience in needle felting can help me out?
I'm curious to know how to create strong joints when felting two shapes together, for instance attaching the "head" to the "body". The books I have are telling me to just felt them together, which works... I'm just looking for something that would work better if the figure was put under mild stress.

Thanks :)

Hi!
I never really know what to say on these things without sounding really corny.

Welcome to my little piece of dA :)
I love trying new things and playing in different mediums, but I tend to stick to the same theme of sculpting, haha. I've played with Sculpey, crochetting, digital drawing, traditional drawing, acrylics, tiny bit of floral design and cake decorating, jewellery, needle felting... My newest endeavor is glass blowing and I'm absolutely in love with the idea of sculpting in glass!
I love travelling, but I've barely left my backyard, unfortunately. That will change soon!
I love my houseplants and watching things grow. And I definitely have a soft spot for goldfish and tiny birds :)

In the fall I'm headed off to school to earn my degree in Visual Communications :)

how's school going?
:iconjamie-lee:
Hey, school's going pretty good! I've been really busy lately with school work though. Haha, I finally realize what all that whining has been about! It was weird going back to school at first, since I was out for two years haha but I'm having fun and I'm loving living in res.
How's everything on your end?
:iconjdh591:
Here is my reply.. like a billion weeks later haha
Everything is going pretty good, I'm starting a new job on monday at a portrait studio so I'm super stoked for that (I'm not sure if I told you or not but I didn't get my student loan this year so I'm taking a year off). I'm really missing going to school but it's nice to just relax and I've had a lot of time to think about what I really want to do with my life. I'm really glad you're enjoying it there! You must post some of your class assignments I want to see what you do:)

And another billion weeks have passed! ...Maybe just three.
How's your new job going at the portrait studio? It's fun getting jobs that actually work with something you're interested in, and challenge you creatively.
Taking a year off isn't so bad... Like you said, you get to relax :). Are you planning on spending the whole year in Saskatoon? Or are you going to do some traveling too?
I will post some stuff when I get some of it back... We haven't done too much that's exciting yet, but soon!
